Highly regarded London City firm with a nationally regarded Local Government Projects Team.


Our client's team specialises in providing legal and commercial services to those that work in or with the public sector, acting for both public sector and private sector clients, but primarily supporting Local Authorities. Our client act on a range of high-value, construction and out-sourcing projects as well as providing day to day support to public sector clients in relation to governance, procurement and commercial contracts.

There will also be, from time to time, an opportunity to play a supporting role in commercial contract disputes and procurement challenges.


You will be a newly qualified lawyer with up to 3 pqe.

You will have a willingness and desire to work directly with clients and handle their own matters, with supervision and support from partners and senior solicitors.

You must have detailed knowledge and practical skills in contract law, contract drafting and negotiations. Some knowledge of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and of local government law is desirable.

* strong drafting skills;
* common sense and practical awareness;
* attention to detail;
* flexibility and willingness to work on a range of public sector projects;
* willingness and capacity to develop handling meetings, often with many attendees, competently and confidently; and
* an ability to handle a varied workload efficiently and be able to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
