Working alongside a team of Partners and Senior Associates and Associates in the London office, you will support the provision of excellent legal services to the insurance sector, including insurance and reinsurance companies; policyholders; captives and mutuals; brokers and other intermediaries; managing agencies and MGAs; TPAs and other service providers.
The insurance and reinsurance work is high value, likely to be complex and multi-party, and often international in nature.
The role will be varied and responsibilities will include:
Reviewing and analysing policy documentation.
Reviewing factual documentation and providing analysis of the same.
Undertaking legal research and managing disclosure exercises.
Working with factual witnesses to prepare statements and working with expert witnesses.
Managing preparations for mediation, trial or arbitration.
Preparing the first drafts of advice to the client.
Liaising with counsel and overseas counsel.
With a strong academic background, including a 2:1 at degree level or equivalent you will have at least 2 years' relevant experience gained from within a strong commercial practice.
Applicants will be considered from competitor firms and in house positions including insurers provided the relevant experience can be demonstrated.
A proven track record in an insurance litigation role is essential.
You will be used to taking on a high degree of responsibility for the cases that you work on.
You will be enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast paced working environment and will relish client contact, with strong business development and client engagement skills.
You can expect to play an active role in practice and business development as well as travel internationally occasionally.
