Job Description

THE COMPANY

A major international bank based in City of London.

THE ROLE

A Regulatory Legal Counsel is now sought to assist with the implementation of new financial services legislation, regulation and regulatory reform projects in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (with a particular focus on the UK and the EU).

You will be advising on all existing financial services and other legislation relevant to London Branch and involved in legal and regulatory issues on cross border marketing by the bank in London and liaising with other bank entities in EMEA.

The work includes monitoring and reporting on new legislation in UK and EU relevant to the business and on cross border legal and regulatory issues.

On the compliance side you will be involved in AML/KYC, sanctions and other relevant prudential and conduct issues for the bank in EMEA


ABOUT YOU

A lawyer qualified in England and Wales or a similar common law jurisdiction with 3pqe+, your experience should have been gained in a top law firm or banking or financial institution.

With sound legal and regulatory knowledge, you will be able to balance commercial awareness and risk management.
