A leading software provider with significant international expansion plans over the next few years both organic and through acquisition.
This is an initial 6 month contract for a Senior Legal Counsel who will report directly to the CFO and serve as an active member of the Group's Senior Leadership team, who are responsible for driving the future strategic plans.
With support from the UK Contract Manager, the Senior Legal Counsel has primary responsibility for handling all day-to-day legal issues associated with the global expansion, distribution, sales and marketing of the Group's software and service offerings.

Responsibilities will include:
Negotiating, drafting and advising on group commercial agreements (including customer contracts (knowledge of SaaS agreements is essential), partnership/joint venture agreements, reseller agreements, NDAs, supplier contracts)
Liaising with external counsel in non-UK geographies where the business operates (currently Australia, Sweden, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark) to prepare all relevant commercial agreements.
Co-ordinating due diligence relating to M&A activity and support.
Analysing legal risks associated with new software and/or service offerings and assisting the Product Management teams with mitigating those risks.
Advice in relation to data protection compliance including in relation to contract negotiation and the operation of the business.
You will also assist the Group in managing claims/disputes in a commercial and cost effective manner (instructing external counsel as necessary)
Developing and updating standard terms and conditions for software and/or service offerings to take account of changes in underlying technologies, delivery methodologies, and legislation/case law
Overseeing the Group's intellectual property (IP) portfolio using external counsel to manage all trademark registrations.
A qualified Lawyer 5pqe + (internationally qualified lawyers will be considered if they have an excellent working knowledge of English common law)
Prior in-house experience ideally with a technology company (whether as an employee or on secondment) is essential
Ideally to have trained and qualified in the commercial/technology team of a leading City or regional firm
Knowledge of SaaS agreements is essential and of sophisticated services contracts (e.g. outsourcing) highly desirable.
IT/software/technology sector background is also desirable.
Knowledge of Data Protection is essential and a broad knowledge of Intellectual Property and Procurement law would be
