A London based educational institution.
A Data Protection Officer is sought to join as maternity cover to run from April 2021 to January 2022.
You will manage all aspects of legal compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA), the GDPR, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoIA), the Environmental Information Regulations and related legislation including responding to data breaches.
You will also drive the project to achieve compliance across the University and its subsidiaries within data protection legislation including managing risk associated with data processing activities and developing training and compliance materials, handbooks and policies and to deliver training.
As the primary point of contact for all staff on best practice in information legal compliance, you will be the key contact point for the ICO.
Additionally you will manage the process of responding to SARs, FoIRs and environmental information requests and to report on the volume and nature of SARs and FoIRs to the quarterly review, executive, and board of governors, as necessary.
An experienced DPO, you will be looking for an interesting and challenging interim role.
