A major international company.
A 12 month FTC to assist the General Counsel in providing support and legal advice to the business.
You will be advising in relation to consumer and commercial contracts, advertising and financial promotions,
consumer rights, data protection, legal disputes and obtaining documented opinions from external counsel where appropriate.
Knowledge of M&A (even if only on the admin side) along with company secretarial experience would be useful but are not essential.
A lawyer with at least 3pqe, you will be business minded and client facing, able to hit the ground running.
Your experience should enable you to :
Check legal documentation (i.e. contracts) from suppliers and third parties to protect the Company's legal and commercial interests.
Proactively manage supplier contracts with Department Managers to ensure up to date, consistent legal documentation is in place and correctly filed.
Manage contract reviews for new suppliers or new contracts, escalating as required to General Counsel.
Advise on day to day legal matters and the legal requirements relating to new business ventures and product development, escalating to the General Counsel as appropriate.
Monitor legal updates to ensure changes are understood and raised with the business at an appropriate level.
Proactively ensure ongoing compliance with the law on a departmental and company level.
Available at short notice, you will able to start in mid September on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
The team will consider applications from England & Wales qualified lawyers and those qualified overseas who ideally already have some UK legal experience.
