A Knowledge lawyer is sought to join the Global IP/IT practice which comprises lawyers specialising in IP, tech and data transactions, data regulation and cyber, together with patent and other IP litigation.
The focus of the role will be data and cyber which affects all of the firm's clients, from tech to life sciences to general industries, where the adoption of data-driven technologies is now far more prevalent.
You will work on aspects of data privacy, cyber security and data governance and, depending on the candidate, aspects of IP law - other than patent law.
Working with practitioners across Global IP/IT, your role will encompass bringing deep expertise to provide critical support, to enable the team to provide market-leading client service, e.g., capturing and sharing insights and knowhow from high-profile transactions, developing internal knowledge products, and analysing and disseminating legal/market current awareness.
You will be involved in raising the profile of the practice and strengthening client relationships by identifying opportunities for, and developing, client content, contributing to and supporting reputation-enhancing publications and supporting client education.
You will also contribute to sector- and client-specific content that features or focuses on data and cyber as well as helping to develop the legal skills of the lawyers in the practice through internal training.
With a strong academic background, you will have gained experience either as fee earner or knowledge management lawyer/professional support lawyer (or a combination) in a data privacy, cyber security and data governance practice.
Transactional and/or IP experience is desirable but not essential.
