Job Description

Description:

Solicitor, NQ - 2 Years PQE, Regulation and Markets

Edinburgh Office

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Regulation and Markets Group, one of the leading competition and regulatory practices in the UK.

Top ranked in the leading legal directories and a past recipient of The Lawyer "Competition Team of the Year" award, the Regulation and Markets Group works with clients on UK and EU competition law, and state aid issues, in both advisory and contentious matters across a wide range of industry sectors, such as utilities, media, sport and financial services. In parallel, the group provides expert advice on the UK and EU sectoral regulatory regimes for key network industries, notably in power, water and telecoms and, increasingly, payment services.

The Group is privileged to work with a diverse and sought-after client base within the UK and overseas, running major projects in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia, and collaborating with partners in various specialist fields, such as economists and financial and technical experts.

All members of the group are expected to play a full role in our business development activities and enjoy a high degree of direct client engagement.

The successful candidate, who will be based in Scotland but will work with clients across the UK and overseas, will preferably have prior experience of working in the competition law and / or sectoral regulatory field. He or she will be an enthusiastic team player, with a passion for his or her subject, a commitment to high standards and an ability to take on responsibility and meet challenging client demands.

Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Please note our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the minimum level of experience required. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this kind of work.
