This firm is a well-established integrated corporate and commercial law firm with offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York. The Commercial Litigation department is recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers as a leading Dispute Resolution team in the Yorkshire region.
We seek a qualified Solicitor ideally circa 5-10 years post qualification, as we feel this will have given exposure and hands on experience of handling a busy caseload of Dispute Resolution work. The individual should have proven demonstrable experience of working in a busy Dispute Resolution department with a particular focus on property litigation. They should also have experience of handling business-to-business disputes, contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, injunctions and shareholder disputes.
The successful candidate will assist more senior members of the team, as well as running their own files with appropriate supervision. Our lawyers work as part of a team, but we also want the successful candidate to expand their own local network of contacts, and to participate in a range of marketing and business development initiatives of the behalf of the department and the Firm.
We will expect the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate a committed and commercial approach to their work. Applicants should have excellent technical skills and a strong appreciation of the challenges of delivering a first class service to clients engaged in, or contemplating, litigation and other forms of dispute resolution process. They should be motivated, flexible and enthusiastic and will need to be well organised and able to meet deadlines.
As there will be regular contact with clients and colleagues within the department and other areas within the Firm, candidates should have the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both in writing and verbally.

Ideal candidates will probably already be working in a Law firm and will have experience of corporate and commercial legal work in the York or Yorkshire market.
