The London office which is at the heart of the global network, is now looking for a lawyer for its IP / IT team.
The firm has advised on many of the biggest and most IP-heavy deals worldwide.
The firm's clients rely on them to solve their most complex, business-critical IP, IT, data and commercial challenges, wherever they arise.
Its lawyers undertake a broad range of IP related work on commercial transactions, including in M&A, IPOs, restructurings, including outsourcing, joint ventures and carve-outs. Work on the IT side, advising both IT suppliers and customers, covers both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Much of the work will have an international dimension and is expected to include some of the largest and most complex matters within which a successful candidate will be expected to have significant responsibility.
They also offer comprehensive training and career development for associates at all levels and encourage secondments, both within their international network and in house to their clients.
The successful candidate will work closely with a range of partners in the Commercial/IP/IT team and will be expected to contribute towards the continued development of the practice.
The team is open to meeting lawyers from other disciplines (including pure corporate lawyers) who might be considering a change in practice towards commercial as well as corporate work.
The person appointed will have the opportunity to play a key role in a growing team, undertaking leading edge work on challenging issues, including:
Leading complex separation and carve-out projects, co-ordinating all internal specialist teams and taking a lead client facing role in managing projects and negotiating transaction documents
Advising clients on a range of IP/IT issues across all sectors but with an emphasis on financial services, pharma and telecoms
Building and developing a strong internal network within the firm globally and working collaboratively with colleagues from other teams, especially on wider transactional deals
Developing a good understanding of the firm's client strategy, a lead role in specific client teams and contributing to business development initiatives that help strengthen client relationships
A lawyer with at least 3-6pqe, you will have a top class academic record and strong commercial/IP/IT transactional experience. The team has historically recruited both from a wide range of firms in different geographies.
A strong knowledge of commercial contract law, intellectual property and information technology as it relates to large, commercial transactions is particularly important for this role
